Kaika - Peacock and Floral Study

In Japanese, Kaika means “blossoming” or “flowering”—the moment something begins to unfold into its full beauty.

For me, this little peacock study is a celebration of new seasons, new beginnings, and the beautiful things that happen when we allow ourselves to grow. Her feathers and florals speak of colour, confidence, and the promise of something new.

She began as a little textile design experiment in my studio, but as I completed her, I knew she wasn’t meant to remain only a design. She had become a little artwork of her own.

And so, this small study is ready to begin a new season of her life, hopefully finding a loving home where she can bring joy, colour, and a little reminder that every new beginning has the potential to bloom into something beautiful. 🤍
